Colby Dowdle is a visual artist based in Dallas, TX. She first became interested in art at a very young age and continued throughout school, winning many awards in high school art competitions. She continuously experiments with different styles, pushes herself to try new techniques and takes on challenging requests to step outside of her comfort zone. Her art reflects her belief in an imaginary world, where she can seek something deeper than her own thoughts. She’s dedicated to creating contemporary art that expresses emotion and conveys energy.
“I feel very fortunate. I’ve found a way to express myself in a world where people hide from their emotions and fear vulnerability. When I’m creating pieces I become so lost in cogitation. Painting allows me the time to breathe, slow down and really tune into my heart, my thoughts, my spirit. Each painting represents a piece of my journey and I hope to encourage my peers to pursue their dreams, take risks and live life passionately.
